Cultural Assimilation
Arguably the best thing I have EVER seen in my entire 21 years of life was before my eyes just the other day. In the library, I saw this really nice foreign guy pass by. He was walking around barefoot, wearing a navy blue t-shirt with an American flag emblazoned on the chest. It said “American Freedom,” and, here’s the best part, he had cut the sleeves off.
He truly embodied the American spirit. No shoes, no sleeves, and tons of patriotism.

And I’m Proud To Be An American
Happy Independence Day! I hope everyone is celebrating by watching the American classic film Independence Day starring Will Smith. That movie was a big frickin deal when it was released. I know my family watched it often. It had cutting edge special effects, which I’m sure look like they were done on Microsoft Paint by now. (It came out in 1996.) And how many times have we all wanted to punch an alien in its weird face and say, “Welcome to Earth!” like Mr. Smith does? But besides punching aliens and delivering hilarious one-liners, there’s much more to being an American. Well, maybe not much but a little.
Mostly, everything here is bigger and better. We have tons of land. A lot of us live in houses as opposed to apartments. And thanks to our unhealthy lifestyles, we even have enlarged hearts! Just more to love our country with.
Have a great 4th of July!
